Campground keeps you informed through two connected systems: notifications and your inbox. Notifications alert you to activity that needs your attention — like an upcoming event, a task update, or a new connection request. Your inbox is where you manage those connection requests, track pending invitations, and see who you’ve connected with.

Notifications

The notification bell

The notification bell in the top navigation bar shows a badge count when you have unread notifications. Click it to open a dropdown with your most recent alerts. Each notification shows an icon, a short description, and how long ago it arrived. Clicking a notification takes you directly to the relevant item and marks it as read.

Notification center

To see your full notification history, click View all at the bottom of the dropdown, or navigate directly to the Notifications page. Here you can:
  • Browse all notifications grouped by time period (Today, Yesterday, This week, and older)
  • Filter between All and Unread
  • Mark individual notifications as read or unread
  • Delete notifications you no longer need

Email notifications

For important events, Campground also sends you an email so you don’t miss anything even when you’re not logged in. Email notifications include a direct link to the relevant item — task, event, or connection request — so you can act on them without navigating through the app.

What triggers a notification

  • A task list is assigned to you or your team
  • A task you submitted needs revision
  • A task submission you made is approved
  • A task is due in 24 hours
  • An event you RSVP’d to is starting in 24 hours
  • Someone sends you a connection invitation - Someone accepts your connection invitation - A connection invitation you sent has been pending for 7 days (reminder)
- You are mentioned in a comment
  • A job posting you submitted is approved
  • Someone expresses interest in a job posting you created
Notifications are sent both in-app and by email. The app refreshes for new notifications automatically in the background.

Inbox and invitations

Your inbox is where you manage connection requests with other members of your organization. You can always view another member’s profile from the directory (unless their group is hidden from the directory), though as a member you only see the fields and sections that are visible to members — admin-only fields, internal comments, and other admin-only sections are hidden. Exchanging contact information happens through a double opt-in: one member sends an invitation, the other accepts, and only then does each person’s email address become available to the other.

Inbox tabs

The inbox is organized into three tabs:

Sending an invitation

To invite someone to connect, visit their profile and use the Invite to connect button. You can include a short personal message. Once sent, the invitation appears as pending in their inbox.

Responding to an invitation

When you receive an invitation, it appears in your Pending invitations tab. You can open it to read the message and then either accept or decline.
  • Accept: Both of you appear in each other’s My matches tab and can continue communicating via email.
  • Decline: The invitation moves to your Declined tab. The sender is not notified when you decline.
If you have pending invitations waiting for a response, a badge count appears on the inbox icon in the navigation so you don’t lose track of them.

After connecting

Once an invitation is accepted, you and the other person are listed as matches. From the My matches tab you can:
  • View their profile
  • Copy their email address to your clipboard
  • Open your default email client to email them directly from their profile
  • See the date you connected
